About G&S WElding

My name is Griffin McCarley and I am 19 years old. I live in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. I graduated from Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, WI in 2020 and this is my 1st year at Bethesda College. I was diagnosed with Autism when I was in 5th grade along with depression, ADHD and a cognitive disability. I still struggle with these but have learned to turn my passion for welding into a business opportunity. The way I did this was by using three of my passions: my love for antiques, working with my hands, and using my mind in a creative manner to create my business idea of selling my artwork at the Cedarburg Merchantile store. (I have also entered my business plan into a competition for Concordia’s business department and I hope I win that!) I am hoping it also brings awareness that people with disabilities can be successful by working hard and making a difference in the world!

Some of my hobbies are kayaking, hunting, fishing and just being outside, but my favorite hobby is welding. I took a couple classes in high school and I was hooked. I feel like welding calms my body down and makes me so happy! I absolutely love it!! I love to create my sculptures from different ideas I come up with and I absolutely love going to rummage sales and junk yards to look for my pieces to create my sculptures
